Anima Goyal
Anima Goyal (°1995, IN) is an artist based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, working across sculpture, video, printmaking and translation. She is interested in situations of misunderstandings, misdiagnosis in clinical and linguistic experiences. In the history of chronic conditions and diagnostic categories, she focuses on their ongoing, inconclusive nature.
She is slowly working towards [an uneasy] material language of pain. Her works move between the roles of a doll, a patient, a caretaker, a conservator, a dictionary, a poet, a custodian, and a translator. They function as speculative proxies for a sick body=sick language, and exist in a perpetual state of non-recovery.
She completed her fine art studies in the class of Willem de Rooij, Städelschule, Frankfurt in 2025. Her work has been a part of Serendipity Arts Festival, 10th Edition (IN), Overture, Städel Museum (DE), WHW Akademija (HR), In/Cube, Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (IN).
