Benjamin McMillan

Meet Jester's new graphic designer in residence! During the next year, Benjamin McMillan will experiment with the visual identity of the organisation, work closely with the artists who exhibit in our Kunsthal and also develop new work in our digital studio.
Benjamin McMillan (1996, UK) lives and works in Amsterdam. He primarily uses type and letter design as a way of expressing the thematics of a project; often trialing novel methods and tools to experiment with the form of a typeface that fits a specific context. Since 2020 he has been running the open-source, workshop-based type foundry, Full Auto Foundry, collaborating with other designers and artists along the way. He works as a freelance designer specialising in editorial design and also teaches Type and Typography at the art academy, ArtEZ in Arnhem.
