Gregor Lau

Gregor Lau is an artist based in Frankfurt and Cologne, Germany. Born in Karlsruhe, he left school early to learn life’s lessons on construction sites and in Bar Milano. After a late start at art school, he began working with the same materials he once tried to escape from, only now they appear in exhibition spaces instead of construction sites.
In his practice, Lau reimagines geographical and social spaces by casting and reproducing architectural fragments. His works explore the interplay between material, labor, social structures, and politics, transforming everyday traces into sculptural reflections on the built environment and its underlying systems.
