Mari Kalabegashvili

Mari Kalabegashvili (°1999, Tbilisi) is a multimedia artist who develops a practice that takes on an organizational role, aiming to synchronize with the dynamics of a given context without becoming distanced from it. Through cross-pollination methods, she constructs her work around contradictions as an entry point, posing the question of what happens after “ever after.” Her research-based practice spans a range of media, all nourished by collaborative, knowledge-sharing processes with individuals from various disciplines. She holds a BA in Visual Arts from the Free University of Tbilisi and is currently studying at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main in the class of Hassan Khan. Alongside her praxis, she is engaged in the Parallel Class project, creating alternative educational initiatives for high school students throughout the country.
