Septian Priyatna

Septian Priyatna (1996, IND) is a Belgian-based freelance graphic designer and approaches his practice as a way to draw out conceptual potential in the mundane. His work is poetic and textured, often punctuated with sharp, witty decisions that hint at our fast-paced visual culture. Septian adapts according to what the context calls for. He acts with intuition and plays bold or tender where needed. His work carries something restless and reflective; something that interrupts an all-too harmonised whole.
In unarticulated ways, Septian’s practice alludes to his movement between the cultural systems of Belgium and Indonesia. His graphic design outputs span across printed matter, digital carries and spacial interventions. He has worked with/for 019, Design Museum Ghent, FOMU, Footnote Gallery, MHKA, Nana Esi (Atelier Brenda) and Willy Vanderperre.
