Anna Sarah Levine works with a hybrid hand, holding the tension between the proximity of human touch and the distance of the machine, between first-hand and second-hand experience. Her aim is to let life permeate the work without full disclosure. As an artist, she often considers completely concealing herself. However, she also continues to believe that nobody’s interior dissonance, understood as vibrations of exterior atmospheres, should be compelled into hiding, or resolved through erasure in the retelling. Having lived in Germany since her youth, she graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in July 2025, where she was a student in Ellen Gallagher’s class.
