Figures of Disappearance approaches performance as a perceptual slippage between recognition and concealment, inviting the viewer into a game of looking, finding, and losing sight. As a playful and nostalgic strategy of becoming one with the background, the work negotiates the unavoidable figurativeness of the human, while paying homage to the complexities and urgency of masking.
